Bruce Jenner – The 411
For everyone who has grown up watching Keeping Up With The Kardashians, we have known Bruce to be the caring, yet funny down to Earth father.
Idolised by his daughters, and with the ability to remain modest throughout the increasing fame and drama his family receives, has meant that Bruce has become loved by the nation.
Originally famous for winning gold in the 1976 decathlon, he has often stayed in the shadows of his fame, and preferred to live a life rich in family and friends.
Early this year, the media released news on Kris and Bruce Jenner’s split, with speculation over Bruce’s sexuality and possible gender reassignment.
With images being released of Bruce wearing nail varnish, and with longer hair and sudden breast growth, the rumours heightened.
This week, Bruce was interviewed by Diane Sawyer of ABC America, in which he told the nation that he is in fact living as a woman, and he believes he was born into the wrong body, due to him always having a woman’s soul.
When asked ‘Are you a woman?’ he replied ‘Yes’.
We are apparently living in a time of equality and liberation, and why shouldn’t someone be able to live the life they want to?
Given the discrimination, hate crimes, racism and homophobia still rife in the world, it is refreshing to see someone so strong, standing up for what they believe in and what they want.
We hope he finds great comfort in all of the supportive tweets from fellow celebs.
We love you Bruce!
