Our Fave Fashion Week Moments Ever!
With Fashion Week fever just around the corner, PDHQ has gone back on our favourite Fashion Week highlights of all time. Believe us bae, there were a few to choose from! Who was killin’ it from the beginning, and who will we remember forever? Take a look!
Fashion Week Highlights
When Chanel’s Paris Fashion Week show in 2014 was styled out like a supermarket, we knew that big things were coming down those aisles. The supermarket special was PD bae Cara Delevingne too. With Chanel branded groceries and designer shopping baskets, Lagerfeld is always taking it the extra mile and this completely stole the show.
Henry Holland’s Debut
Henry Holland made his debut at London Fashion Week in 2006 with his slogan t-shirts. ‘I’ll tell you who’s boss, Kate Moss’, ‘Get Yer Freak On Giles Deacon’ and ‘I’ve got more than a handful for Naomi Campbell’ to name a few. Shiny materials and neon brights are what Henry Holland is most known for, and are themes that he goes back to time and time again in his newer collections. Henry got it just right, and we’re forever grateful he did!
Alexander McQueen Graffiti Dress
Despite it happening in a year where we were still being dressed by our parents, Alexander McQueen’s 1998 Paris Fashion Week show was ground breaking and something that we’ve seen photos from time and time again. A model in the centre of the room in a white dress… nothing special, right? Bae, you couldn’t be more wrong. In a spectacle never before seen at PFW, the floor spins and she’s sprayed head to toe from all sides by robots with yellow and black paint. McQueen was a visionary, and it’s undoubtedly one of the top fashion week highlights we’ve ever seen.
Kanye West Yeezy Season 3
How could we get through a fashion week highlights list without mentioning Yeezy? Kanye West has cemented himself as one to be watched (and we are happy to keep watching!), His Yeezy Season 3 show in Madison Square Garden in New York Fashion Week this year was something to be talked about. After being given a list of 38 rules, he made his models stand still for 90 mins whilst he played ‘The Life of Pablo” in its entirety. You’re insane, but we love you more than Kanye loves Kanye.
Naomi Campbell Falls Over
Possibly the most iconic moment from a Fashion Week ever happened in Paris 1993. Naomi Campbell, one of fashion’s most treasured, was walking in a Vivienne Westwood show. Something that shouldn’t have fazed her right? Wrong. The shoes she was wearing were something that would top all of our platforms, literally. Naomi took a tumble before laughing at her herself and getting back up. Good on you, girl!
