Our Designer’s Styling tips!

10th February 2020.
by Lauren Russell.

With SS20 officially upon us and with us all looking forward to warmer days, there’s only one thing we can think about… updating our SS20 shoedrobe! And who better to help than clothing designer and PD office queen herself, Jess. (Seriously, she probably owns half our site). So if you’re shopping all the hot newness, then you need our designer’s styling tips.

Q) Hi Jess, so in a few words can you tell us what your job title is, and what your day to day looks like?

Hey, I am clothing and swimwear designer here at PD. My PD day is super busy and great fun. My days start with creating colour palettes and trend boards from the catwalk, then my fav bit designing into the trends making sure all your season must haves are covered. The designs are then sampled, fitted ready for my buying Queen to work her magic so you guys can order next day.

Q) And how many pairs of PD shoes do you reckon you own?

Wow! Big question there, hmmmm I shop new in constantly but also have my faves that as soon as there is a new colour in I need! So I have at least 60 pairs that I can think of right now. A girl just can never have too many shoes.

Q) What inspires your shoedrobe? How do you decide on a shoe you like?

For me mainly catwalk, I’m looking at the catwalks constantly for my job so that influences me a lot. One of the reasons I buy so many from PD is because I can get the catwalk look so quick after the shows (and on a budget).

Q) What’s your favourite shoe at the moment?

Such a hard question, I love so many! For casual I’m really feeling Gilda, for day to night Cabo. For out out my faves have to be Caris or Antics.

Q) Where does your style inspiration come from?

My style inspo constantly switches between catwalk shows, bloggers like blvckd0pe (she is incredible!) and my fav style Queen Hailey Beiber.

Q) What’s your office to bar shoe of choice?

Office to bar shoe has to be Harlow. It comes in such dreamy colours too I can wear a new colour every Friday.

Q) How do you style up and down your heels? Any tips?

I love styling down my heels with oversized boyfriend hoodies or super comfy af joggers. Then styling heels up for nights out with the girls with my fave blazer dress. A trend I’m loving at the min too is heels like Cabo tied over my jeans then taking them to the night with a dress and tan.

Jess’s top boot picks!

Who doesn’t love a good boot? Well let’s check out Jess’s faves, top left we have 𝐀𝐃𝐀𝐋𝐄𝐄, featuring a slouched knee high fit, pointed toe and statement diamond heel.
