Sleep Routine - Tips & Tricks

2020, what a time! If only we could turn back time to New Year's Eve 2019 and let everyone know you should work on that home office set up, get used to spending a whole load of weekends at home & stocking up on cosy slippers will soon be SO worth it! 

A change in routine and a few extra worries can really affect sleeping pattern! It can be so tough to switch off and we are all guiltily of the endless scrolling before bed.

This in mind we thought we would share some of our top tips on how to make the most of that treasured beauty sleep & a couple of tricks that we've found make drifting off a hell of a lot easier! 

BUSY DAYS, RESTFUL NIGHTS 

It sounds an obvious one but the more you do on the daily, the more tired you'll be feeling before bed. If working from home why not make the most of your lunch break with a quick home work out? Have enough time for a quick breathe of fresh air with a walk around the block? If you are back in the office, then the commute alone is probably making sure you're fully ready to snooze once home.

NO NAPS

This is an essential! Napping in the day will make your routine so out of place. You already know you'll be staring at the ceiling hoping you'll drift off soon. Naps are a big no! 

LESS SCREEN TIME 

It is SO easy to scroll and scroll until it's time to nod off but sometimes the bright screen glow and endless insta scrolling can awaken our minds just a little too much for the evening. Try to give yourself a time (around an hour/half an hour) before bed in which you fully switch off. Flip that phone screen side down if you need to babe!

If you commit to putting down your phone a little earlier but find yourself thinking how to fill that time then just trust us, reading is the perfect time filler! There is no better feeling that being really into a good book, the ultimate page turner can be so hard to put down but will for sure fill that time before resting your eyes.

JOURNALING  

Reading not for you? Why not try out journaling. Research has previously shown that even 15-30 minutes of journal writing can be beneficial. Use this time to write down your worries, goals even inspo quotes or to-do lists for the next day! Let the words flow and hopefully a stress-free mind will make it much easier to drift off to the land of nod. 

EYE MASKS
